The new S5 is 6.3 Watts faster than its predecessor. These gains are realized primarily at the front end of the bike, but the integration of the asymmetric profiles of the seat tube and rear wheel are a significant source as well. Cervelo R5

The new R5 in a size 56 builds up to just 5.97kg, a full 900 grams under the UCI’s minimum weight limit. The frame is just 651 grams (size 56), and the fork is 298 grams. In addition to the 100g reduction in frame/fork weight, we’ve turned our attention to every single component on the bike, for a total weight reduction of 326g from all Cervelo components.

We took the handling geometry for the Soloist directly from R5. The R5 is beloved by pros and amateurs alike for its poise, stability, and precision when that killer climb turns into an even more killer descent. Soloist benefits from our decades of race bike geometry development, and comes out of the gate ready to go.

Each and every tube shape on the FR was meticulously theorized, modeled, and tested in order to achieve both the optimal performance characteristics demanded by cycling’s top athletes and the ride quality revered by riders the world over. From its asymmetrical chainstays crafted to precisely balance the rider’s pedaling forces with the inherent effects of a drivetrain, to its rear triangle and fork developed to mitigate road chatter in order to reduce rider fatigue, every millimeter of the FR frameset was finely sculpted in excruciating detail. Featuring the most refined layups in our history and TeXtreme carbon fiber, the FRD, Advanced, and Performance iterations of the FR set a new standard for lightweight road bikes. The aluminum version is no slouch either, featuring a SuperLite aluminum frame paired with an Advanced-level carbon fork.
